I loved reading these, they are wonderful. I'm not even usually a poetry person and I don't write it, but I loved the ideas and images offered here. Made me feel less alone in my life right now. The pain, the growth, and the problems in our religion are real and I feel it in these words. Thank you for validating that I'm not crazy or alone. Sharing the pain and hearing others' pain helps.
I am touched by each of the writings of these women. I thank them for writing.
I do have to say that the thing that stuck out ( dare I say jumped out) at me is the picture of the lime green pew! I have never been to a ward building that had such a happy and uplifting color on the chapel. What a joy it must be to walk in to a chapel filled with my the promise of a joyful meeting and uplifting energy.
It must be in Utah ? I will hope that this is the future direction of our meeting houses as we strive to be a more inclusive and uplifting community. Just think what the first impression is walking into that bldg ;)
I've gotta be honest here, Kim...I couldn't find a good photo of an LDS pew, so we're illustrating with the Baptists this week. 😂 Yes, this is a week when I wish our chapels were a little more uplifting. The photo I liked best was actually a pew in a very subtle plaid...it was beautiful! And I thought, "Nah...that is TOO far-fetched..."
Susan, THANK YOU for scooching over on the writing bench and sharing your seat with us. Your artistry leads the way and I hope to high heaven you'll continue to share your mastery of words and notions. This is a sacred space and I'm going to come worship here again and again. Thank you to ALL for these invaluable connecting threads. With love and gratitude... ~Emily
Thank YOU, Emily! I feel so privileged every time I get to share your work. Thank you for your generosity of spirit and word. You're a gift to us all. —S.

A delightful gift to all - thank you to all of the poets for sharing their hearts.
What beautiful poems!! So many good ones, loved every one. Read the caterpillar one to my husband. ❤️ 🐛 🦋 Love being here with the other butterflies!!
A butterfly is a great thing to be. It would have been nice if I'd fully understood that as a caterpillar... —S.
