Has what was intended to be a “holier” approach to watching over each other elevated our game, or fallen flat? The switch to the Ministering program left a lot of us wondering exactly what it is we’re supposed to be doing. We were good at meals and messages, but we’re not so comfortable meeting people where they are, and just being there with them. Have you ever wondered how to minister to someone in a difficult situation? What should you say when there’s nothing to say that can really help? In this episode, Sue Bergin shares insights in a conversation about learning new and better ways to provide support to each other with empathy, compassion, and love.

I’d love to know more of becoming a Hospice Chaplin and a link to the ministering training spoke of?

This resonates with me so much. I feel like this change was supposed to be transformational, and I was excited for it. But we missed so much and it feels like a lot of that has to do with being comfortable in what we’re trained to do within the church. My heart weeps for all the missed opportunities to really care for someone and learn how to meet their needs, or who can meet their needs, in an impactful way.
