I love this essay so much. What beautiful writing! The comparison of the desire path to the path of Jesus spoke to me deeply.

I believe in a God (or Gods) of abundance who doesn't need to put us in blinders or build 10 foot guardrails to get us back to them. Heaven/peace/happiness are so desirable that we don't need threats of endless torment to work towards them - only an invitation and the tools to get there.

I wish we heard this kind of talk in conference! I’d never heard the phrase desire paths before but I’ll be thinking about it all day today now!

Damn! You just spoke to my soul. I am deeply grateful for your ability to put words to my complicated thoughts and feelings. I felt that all the way to my bones.🙏🏼

Gorgeous, Susan! You really do have the best metaphors and imagery❤️ I also really appreciate the connection I took away between MAGA and the Restoration. I’d never thought of it that way and it makes SO much sense!

I was today years old when I learned the “desire path” concept - thank you! There seems to be something in this concept about keeping ourselves awake, deliberate and “acting” instead of being “acted upon”. Efficiency and conformity at scale is not the goal!

I love your expansive, thought-provoking, cosmo-directed, earth-bound approach. Your writing is stirring and beautiful, challenging and yet soothing.

Ahh, the perfect words to read in my raspberry patch hideout this morning! Thank you. If there is cake for the soul, you are my baker of choice.

I can't imagine any compliment better than "cake for the soul," except being read in a raspberry patch is also extremely satisfying...thanks, Katy!

This was just what I needed this morning. As a person who really dislikes being told what to do (and is tired of the phrase “covenant path”), your words were manna to my soul. Thank you!

Takes one to know one. Thanks, Natalie!

Oh I just loved this! Jesus got to have his desire path in a sense but we're expected to walk on the sidewalk.

So beautiful. Thank you for this - it is the perfect morning devotional for me today and puts into words how I’ve been feeling for a long time. We are all finding our way to a huge destination that has room for all.

The idea of a huge destination feels so much more motivating to me than a very exclusive one. Exclusivity has the opposite effect for me. No thanks!

I am 1000% in agreement with you express exclusivity to me means pain and alienation for most and that does not bring up any desire in me of any kind. however, a huge destination really interesting really something that could draw me in and draw my attention and all the great ways that God is intended to thank you for writing this.
