Happy [end of] fall!

I’d like fall a lot more if it lasted longer than two weeks. Sometimes my trees haven’t even finished dropping their golden leaves before the first snowstorm hits. How rude! But the brevity of fall is a metaphor for life—all amazing things seem to happen in quickie moments and then life invariably settles back into ordinary moments. So why would Mother Nature be any different? And if ordinary moments seem to be the bulk of life, then perhaps I ought to start with enjoying them more. Here are a few ordinary things that I’ve found worthy of my time this fall—
