When I heard that, my question was, like yours, who’s the “we” he’s talking about?” I know that he’s talking about how they’re not wise in “using the great qualifications and powers of the daughters of God,” but when he says “we” have work to do, he’s talking about the institution of the church, or the leaders who make the decisions, not the women in the church. So when he ends with “we’re better off” he’s talking about the church, not the women. He’s assuming that the crumbs have actually fed us.
Frankly I’m surprised that they haven’t found more ways to “use” us. I feel pretty used up by now.
